If you’re lucky enough to live in a climate that’s sunny and warm in wintertime, but way too toasty in summertime, here are a few hot weather fabric tips to help you beat the heat.
Cotton is king when it comes to surviving the hot humidity of Dallas, TX or that infamous “dry” heat in Phoenix and Tucson, AZ. Poplin and seersucker suits are your best bet, as both are extremely lightweight and “breathe” well.
Linen is another great choice for men’s suits and comes in an array of fresh colors. It absorbs heat well, is lightweight and just as comfortable as cotton.
Khaki runs a distant fourth, as it is generally much heavier than poplin or seersucker. Consider wearing it for evening or early morning when the temps are cooler.
The one fabric that’s often overlooked is lightweight wool. You might think it crazy, but all wool that weighs 7 or 8 ounces per yard is perfect, especially when your work place requires clothing that’s more than casual.
When it comes to hot weather fabric selection, SW Wilson Bespoke & Custom Clothiers will guide you towards those that will get you through the heat of summer in comfort.
